To further encourage faculty and students to care about mental health and foster a positive, warm, and relaxed campus atmosphere, the Youth League branches of Classes 2401,2504 and 2505 jointly held the “Debugging the Mind, Piecing Together Joy” Youth League Day activity for the 525 Mental Health Festival in the lobby of Building A on May 23. Centered on Perler bead handcrafting, the activity invited students to unwind and relieve stress through hands-on creation, turning tiny colorful beads into imaginative works—and into joyful moments of their own.

Event Highlights
At the event, the tables were laid out with an array of colorful fuse beads, templates, and tools. Students chose patterns according to their own preferences: some created adorable flowers, cups, and cartoon figures; some designed small ornaments with distinctive personal touches; others exchanged ideas with classmates nearby on color matching and pattern design. In a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, everyone completed a piece of their own.
Though fuse-bead crafting may seem simple, it calls for patience, focus, and a touch of creativity. From selecting colors and arranging patterns to refining details again and again, students gradually immersed themselves in the process of piecing the beads together one by one. It was as if the fast pace of research and study had been gently put on pause; through handcrafting, everyone slowed down and found a moment of calm in concentration.
During the activity, many students shared that their academic and research commitments often leave little time to slow down and enjoy the process of completing something at a relaxed pace. They found the fuse-bead activity both enjoyable and stress-relieving, and watching their creations gradually take shape brought a strong sense of accomplishment. Some students chose to give their finished works to friends, while others planned to take them back to their dormitories as decorations, allowing this sense of ease and happiness to continue beyond the event and into their daily lives.

Wrapping Up
As more and more bead creations were completed, the venue gradually transformed into a miniature gallery of creativity. Brightly colored flowers, adorable animal figures, and playful designs were displayed together, becoming one of the most eye-catching features of the event. Each piece reflected its creator’s imagination and emotions, capturing the warmth and healing atmosphere of the afternoon.
The “Debugging the Mind, Piecing Together Joy” Youth League Day activity, held as part of the 525 Mental Health Festival, combined mental health education with a creative hands-on experience. Through relaxed interaction and artistic expression, students were able to relieve stress, strengthen connections with one another, and deepen their awareness of mental well-being. Looking ahead, the School will continue to organize diverse and engaging mental health initiatives, supporting students as they navigate the demands of academic and research life, maintain their enthusiasm, regulate their emotions, and approach every “debugging” moment on their journey of growth with confidence and positivity.
One bead at a time, students pieced together not only patterns, but also their feelings; With every creation, they produced not only a craft, but also a memory of joy. May every student find their own “restart happiness” button and carry that sense of joy into everyday life.
