Prof. Fangcheng Zhong specializes in computer graphics and vision, extended reality (XR/VR/AR), and spatial and physical intelligence. Before joining PKU, he obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, where he continued as a Senior Researcher and Lecturer. Prof. Zhong's publication spans top-tier venues across computer graphics (e.g., SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia), machine learning (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, Nature Machine Intelligence), and computer vision (e.g., CVPR, ECCV). He is also the recipient of multiple prestigious awards and honours, including the European Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship, and honourable mentions for the ACM SIGGRAPH Outstanding Dissertation, the IEEE VGTC Virtual Reality Best Dissertation, and the Eurographics PhD award. His PhD dissertation is the only work that has received simultaneous recognition from SIGGRAPH, IEEE VR, and Eurographics.

With a long-term vision of fully bridging the domain gap between physical and digital reality, Prof. Zhong welcomes strong candidates interested in world modelling, differentiable graphics, 3D/4D generative AI, physics-informed machine learning, and hyper-realistic imaging and rendering.
